We took a drive with Nammy to Smalls Falls near the Rangely Lake Area. It's got a small parking area/rest area and picnic tables. There are several falls and pools that you can walk to (and go in). Bryce was the only one who braved the chilly water but it was beautiful to see.
The road follows the Sandy River most of the way from Oakland. It was previously glacial/ocean area.
